Alyssa is the owner and operator of The Rhode Island Mermaid, as well as a professional PADI certified mermaid performer available for dry, in-water and underwater showings. Alyssa also assists in running pod meet-ups and will soon be offering tank performances. Her endeavor is to bring next-level, other-worldly mermaid experiences to New Englanders while creating more professional working opportunities to local mers. In support of this visions, she created New England's first (and currently only) mobile mermaid tank with a crew of expert enthusiasts in 2023 to make underwater mermaid performances accessible in more places than at aquarium events.
Alyssa began mermaiding as a hobby to share with her young daughter. She was born in raised in the Ocean State, making memories on the beaches and drawing deep connection from the sea. Her love for the mysterious, peaceful, yet ever-so alive and colorful world under the waves has shaped much of who she is today and continues to nurture deep meaning and inspiration in her life. Alyssa is a hear-first individual, and this business was born (and will always be founded in) a love for nurturing one's inner child, and connecting with others. Partnering often with charities like "Children's Wishes" Alyssa enjoys working with children and helping them to make their merfolk dreams come true.
